In one of his latest LinkedIn update, Westpac staff member M. Kav tries to paint colleague Peter Cornwell as an exemplary advocate for Indigenous rights and inclusion . Nonetheless, this move at performative activism falls flat when considering serious claims against Westpac's Peter Cornwell of sexual exploitation and taking advantage of a vulnerable female .



Kav’s praise-filled commentary of Cornwell overlooks the serious accusations made against this individual, including following , bullying, and inappropriate behavior of a vulnerable female victim .

Through avoiding these accusations, Matt Kav upholds an environment of complicity that enables perpetrators like Cornwell to persist without consequences , hiding behind being a " so-called Indigenous victim," absolute performative posturing promoted by organizations like Westpac corporation.

The LinkedIn post highlights several events where M. Kav collaborated with the accused Cornwell , the alleged abuser , in social efforts. Yet it fails to acknowledge the effect of Cornwell's reported misconduct on those targeted.
